The Olde Pink House (1879) is an example of early Savannah wealth. It was built to be a
residence for James Habersham, Jr., a Savannah merchant and political activist. In 1818 the United States Bank, and today it is a restaurant serving fine southern cuisine.

Forsyth Fountain - installed in 1858 on the northern side of the park, was believed to be the largest in the nation at that time. An interesting fact is that in Cuzco, Peru there is an identical fountain with an Indian maiden on top.

City Hall, est. 1906, stands on the site of the former city exchange,
Savannah's first major building and was the headquarters for
government, business, state affairs, and entertainment during the 19th century.

Beautiful Tybee Island provides a refreshing getaway for Savannahians and is not to be missed if visiting during the summer.

Mercer House, built in 1860 by the grandfather of Johnny Mercer. Recently it was owned by the main character in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", the late Jim Williams and is now owned by his sister, who has opened it to the public for tours.

When the Cotton Exchange was built cotton exports produced revenues of $40 million and the area was known as the "Wall Street of the South." Today the cotton exchange is home to the oldest continuously operating one in the nation, dating back to 1734.

The Waving Girl Statue on River Street is a tribute to Florence Marius, the sister of the lighthouse keeper, who for forty-four years waved to passing ships.

Shown here is the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, where the founder of the girl scouts was born on October 31, 1860.

River Street's shops, galleries and restaurant's are a tourist Mecca beside the Savannah River.

The Tybee Lighthouse is the oldest and tallest in Georgia, the first 60 feet date back to 1773, the upper 94 feet to 1867.

Completed in 1991 the new Talmadge Memorial cable stayed bridge replaced the old cantilever truss bridge which had become a danger for large shipping entering the port in Savannah, Georgia.

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Georgia, built in 1876, and the seat of the Diocese in Savannah.
